Item Description: |
This work was funded through the Flood Risk Management Research Consortium, (funded by amongst others, EPSRC, EA, NERC and UKWIR), together with collaboration with a RCUK Research Fellow (Magar). The paper presents a novel data-driven modelling technique which is applied to the problem of forecasting the evolution of offshore sandbanks over the period of almost a decade. The method involves statistical analysis, resampling and forecasting steps and was validated against a high quality dataset obtained from the Great Yarmouth Port Authority. Additional funding was obtained from NERC as part of their FREE programme (Contact Prof. P Hardaker). |
