I have found that by creating weighted rubrics the marking can be standardised and automatically calculated, thus making it fairer when there are multiple markers. I have also found that if the feedback within each section is sufficiently well created and detailed it shows students which elements they need to improve. This then can be supported by targeted quick marks. Thus, making marking easier for staff and also easier to digest for students.
