In particular, the paper thoroughly investigates the dynamic performance of the all-optical gain control (OGC) amplifier and discusses the interplay of amplifier dynamics with different traffic statistics. The experimental results have proven the effectiveness and simplicity of the OGC technique for burst traffic.
