The paper proposes a novel strategy for developing accurate low-order membrane elements, to be used in structural analysis. The new technique is compatible with existing simulation framework and improves the accuracy of analysis by 2-3 orders, enabling large-scale practical structures to be simulated efficiently on desktop computers. This research work is jointly conducted with Prof S.
