Item Description: This is an international collaborative project involving researchers from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) and National University of Singapore to investigate the growth of Mn-doped ZnO thin film using filtered cathodic vacuum arc technique. This dilute magnetic semiconducting thin film exhibits excellent room temperature ferromagnetism and ultra-violet (UV) emission when grown at optimum condition. The fabrication of such high quality ZnO:Mn thin film is leading to the development of efficient magneto-optic devices operating at UV regime, which has major impact in information technology.
