Item Description: Innovative research in collaboration with the Institute of Colloid and Water Chemistry, Kiev, Ukraine. This paper had a major impact upon understanding molecularly imprinted membranes for specific sorption properties and led to invited lectures at at Water Desalination Conference in Arab Countries held in Saudi Arabia (April 2010) and Qatar University(9 May 2011). This work has also been instrumental in the development and funding of EU project “Development of the next generation membrane bioreactor system (BioNexGen)” with 11 European and Middle East partners. This paper was also presented in more details as a chapter in a book published by CRC Press on "Membrane Modification: Technology and Applications -ISBN 978-1439866351” by Nidal Hilal et al.
