Abstract: The article describes techniques for oral delivery of RNAi in the agricultural pests Western Flower thrips and onion thrips. We focus on diet optimization and a comparison of oral delivery methods of dsRNA, including symbiont-mediated RNAi which is the technique pioneered by our group. This is essentially a methods paper that provides key information for researchers planning reverse genetics experiments and biocontrol strategies in thrips and related pest species.
