Abstract: This book brings together thirteen authors who offer different perspectives on the Poliorketika ('How to Survive Under Siege') of Aineias the Tactician. Aineias wrote his manual, one of the first to be composed, in the mid-fourth century. He is one of very few classical prose authors who does not seem to have close connections to Athens. His work provides unique insights into the life of small Greek city states in the period, and it is pioneering in terms of genre and language. This volume provides the most comprehensive discussion of Aineias' work to date.
