Item Description: |
This work was as part of an international ring trial to validate the in vitro micronucleus assay in order for it to gain an OECD guideline. This was the last project of its type, with close guidance from the Food and Drug Administration and OECD with collaborators from top pharmaceutical companies. The introduction and discussion of this special issue journal will be cited heavily although the individual papers will not be. It is of huge impact to all those carrying out hazard and risk assessment such as pharmaceutical, agro- and petro-chemical, cosmetic companies as well as giving confidence to global regulators such as FDA, EPA, USDA, EMA, NIHS, NIEHS and BfArM.This project is of global impact due to the reasons above, but this is not reflected in the journals impact factor or the number of citations for the paper. The journal was chosen as Prof. David Kirkland lead the project and is the editor for this journal. |
