Item Description: |
Previous work has looked at the evaluation of properties of homogenized properties of microstructures. This study is a follow-on by including uncertainty which might arise from normal manufacturing processes. Uncertainty and its quantification are fundamental to the progress of designing more advanced structures such as airframes. Some of the original work was carried out using EPSRC funding (EPSRC GR/L41516/01), the present work is carried out under an FP7 programme (ERC project 247045). The work is one of the underpinning methodologies for developing collaborative project proposals with aircraft manufacturers to change the design process for aircraft. |
