Item Description:	For the first time, analysis of a large dataset has uncovered associations between routine PPH prophylaxis and breastfeeding, suggesting how breastfeeding rates could be improved by 6-8%. As indicated in the accompanying editorial, commentaries and press coverage (BBC, Times – front page 1st September.2009, Reuters, BMJ, NCT, UNICEF and the popular press), this insight into the UK’s low breastfeeding rates requires further exploration. JIF 3.41. Eigenfactor score (TM)* 0.02564. 8th of 79 journals in the field for IF and eigenfactor score (TM), 3rd in article influence score (Thompson ISI 2011). Highest ranked UK journal for clinical obstetrics. (The only higher clinical journal is North American, where midwifery practice is very different.)
