The literature review (Chapter 2) describes the relationship between various contributory factors and explains the study&#x2019;s theoretical framework. The methods of the current study comprise the collection of both quantitative and qualitative data, therefore reinforcing its contribution to the literature and allowing the development of practical guidelines for SMEs about their internationalisation process.Five hypotheses are proposed to help understand how innovation and technology affect the internationalisation of SMEs: the first two are directly related to the theme of innovation and technology, investigating their influence on the process of internationalisation, while the following three examine the involvement of resource development, managerial experience, and networking relationships. The results suggest a clear link between the increased use of innovative practices and the application of advanced technologies and the internationalisation of SMEs, although weaknesses are identified around resource development, managerial experience, and networking relationships in the global venture process. These findings demonstrate the necessity of a mixed approach that preserves the direction of innovation and technology, effective resource usage, a high level of managerial competencies, and successful networking. Therefore, useful insights can be provided to expand understanding of SME internationalisation within the Saudi Arabian context, including entrepreneurial strategies to help SMEs compete and prosper in the global marketplace through the adoption of innovation and technology.
<type>E-Thesis</type><journal/><volume/><journalNumber/><paginationStart/><paginationEnd/><publisher/><placeOfPublication>Swansea</placeOfPublication><isbnPrint/><isbnElectronic/><issnPrint/><issnElectronic/><keywords>Innovation, Technology, Internationalisation, SMEs, Saudi Arabia.</keywords><publishedDay>18</publishedDay><publishedMonth>11</publishedMonth><publishedYear>2025</publishedYear><publishedDate>2025-11-18</publishedDate><doi>10.23889/SUThesis.70962</doi><url/><notes/><college>COLLEGE NANME</college><CollegeCode>COLLEGE CODE</CollegeCode><institution>Swansea University</institution><supervisor>Mulyata, J., and Cranfield, D.</supervisor><degreelevel>Doctoral</degreelevel><degreename>Ph.D</degreename><degreesponsorsfunders>King Khalid University</degreesponsorsfunders><apcterm/><funders>King Khalid University</funders><projectreference/><lastEdited>2025-11-21T14:49:07.9973691</lastEdited><Created>2025-11-21T14:30:39.1136755</Created><path><level id="1">Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences</level><level id="2">School of Management - Business Management</level></path><authors><author><firstname>FAHD</firstname><surname>ALQAHTANI</surname><order>1</order></author></authors><documents><document><filename>Under embargo</filename><originalFilename>Under embargo</originalFilename><uploaded>2025-11-21T14:43:31.3475433</uploaded><type>Output</type><contentLength>7407754</contentLength><contentType>application/pdf</contentType><version>E-Thesis</version><cronfaStatus>true</cronfaStatus><embargoDate>2030-11-18T00:00:00.0000000</embargoDate><documentNotes>Copyright: The Author, Fahd Mohammed Alqahtani, 2025.</documentNotes><copyrightCorrect>true</copyrightCorrect><language>eng</language></document></documents><OutputDurs/></rfc1807>
