Abstract: There are no personal experiences related to multi-sensory dysfunction. “Multisensory” is defined and explained, as is multi-sensory integration. The following section addresses what happens to multi-sensory function with respect to ageing and various aetiologies of dementia and cognitive impairment. Both dual and multi-sensory functions are then described in various types of dementia, and their effects on daily life are highlighted.
