Drawing on examples from Spanish-language narratives from the Global South and North, the political power of affectivity is analysed in two complementary yet contrasting dimensions: as anchored affectivity, through mimetic referentiality that activates bonds of emotional closeness, and as distributed affectivity, using textual frameworks of meaning that mobilise different emotions through fiction. Based on the triad of narrative-affectivity-politics, we propose how climate fiction can contribute constructively to the fight for climate justice and the ecosocial transition.
