With a focus on identifying opportunities, evaluating barriers, and assessing the impact of digital technology, the research underscores the critical role of EE in supporting KSA’s transition towards a knowledge-based economy. Existing literature reveals the fragmented understanding of EEs and limited exploration in emerging economies, particularly in KSA. This study addresses these gaps by examining the factors shaping TE in KIBs and the transformative potential of digital platforms. Adopting an interpretivist paradigm and an exploratory inductive approach, the research utilises semi-structured interviews with key stakeholders, including entrepreneurs, government representatives, and educational institutions. Findings highlight the dual role of digital technology in enabling innovation and posing challenges such as data security and privacy concerns.
