Item Description: |
Autobalancing devices have huge potential to improve the performance of rotating machinery. However passive devices, such as ball balancers, are highly non-linear and requires a detailed analysis to ensure robust performance. This paper describes such an analysis and validates the results experimentally, and arose from an EPSRC CASE award in collaboration with Rolls-Royce. Autobalancers are one of the key applications for a recently awarded EPSRC Programme Grant on Engineering Nonlinearity and this paper was cited in the proposal. |
