Item Description: Published in the leading journal for corrosion research (Impact factor 3.7 citations 5), this work presents an investigation into the effect of steel gauge on the cut-edge corrosion of Galvanised alloy coatings. Assessment of this corrosion is critical for Tata Steel where 9000 tonnes per week are produced having warranties of up to 40 years (Mike.Coppack@tatasteel.com). The results and model produced have had a direct influence on evaluation methods within Tata Steel (jon.elvins@tatasteel.com) and the work has been presented internationally at the leading European corrosion conference (Eurocorr 09, Nice, France).
