Item Description: This paper reports, for the first time, an investigation on combining nanoscale and pilot scale investigations on particle-bubble interactions using AFM and floatation together. The paper showed how the AFM colloid probe can be used to explain the bulk behaviour during industrial processes in mineral separation by froth floatation. It also underpins two EPSRC projects with Leeds University and Imperial College (EP/D027985/1 and EP/D027942/1). Led to a plenary lecture at INDO-UK Workshop and was also presented, in more details, as a chapter in a book on "Atomic Force Microscopy in Process Engineering -ISBN 978-1-8561-7517-3" by Richard Bowen and Nidal Hilal.
