Item Description: |
This is the first article that gives full explanation of the role that algorithmic treatment of moving mesh plays in the finite element modelling of fluid-structure interaction. Initial motivation for the research has been developed in collaboration with Prof Tezduyar (Rice University, USA) and the article provides theoretical basis for an important class of FSI algorithms employed by Tezduyar and co-workers in a wide range of engineering applications. The research was funded by EPSRC Platform Grant (GR/R92318), and the main results were presented by Prof Peric in Plenary Lecture at the 2nd Asia-Pacific Congress on Computational Mechanics in Kyoto, Japan. |
