Item Description: This research emerged from the MIT-Swansea collaboration in solid dynamics. Ideas on solid mechanics mappings from this previous collaboration were applied to re-formulate fluid structure interaction equations on moving meshes into fixed reference meshes suitable for high order computations. The paper has attracted much attention in the Computational community as it pioneers the use of discontinuous Galerkin high order methods with moving domains. The work was funded by the MIT-Singapore Alliance.
