Abstract: The focus of this special issue is to examine the impact of E-business within the small and medium sized enterprise (SME) sector from an international perspective. In recent years, the adoption of E-business technologies within the SME sector has gathered momentum globally with widespread usage of electronic mail, websites and E-commerce trading. However, it is widely acknowledged within the academic community that there is a limited literature evaluating the impact of E-business technologies especially in an international context. This special issue is therefore, a first step in providing an extended knowledge base examining how E-business technologies have impacted upon the processes, productivity and profitability of the SME sector in a global context.
