Most standard contracts used in practice do not provide adequate answers to the questions posed, leaving us with an alarming number of legal uncertainties. Reflecting the emergence of a new model of piracy, new special-tailored piracy clauses, standard armed guards employment contracts and marine Kidnap &amp; Ransom policies have been drafted. The research examines how risk distribution between different parties needs to be reconsidered and how the problems emerging can be avoided by contractual mechanisms.
