Abstract: The population genomic analysis of 262 Bacillus cereus isolates from the Brazilian dairy pruduction demonstrated a diversity of strains and variability of putative function. Large numbers of strains were potentially able to cause foodborne illness with high numbers of isolates carrying toxin-associated genes. This study will contribute to targeted interventions to reduce milk contamination and spoilage associated with B. cereus in Brazil.
