Abstract: This book is a deep empirical analysis of election coverage across a range of media, specifically broadcast news. It considers the varying logics driven by the media, politicians and the public, and looks at the extent to which policy is featured in election reporting. I embraces the differences offered by public service broadcasting across a number of different democracies, the delivery of balance and impartiality, and how recent elections have been dominated by an emphasis on personalities and their use of social media.
