Abstract: |
A simple but effective energy management system is described whereby the energy management system is connected to the DC-link between an energy source such as photovoltaics and a conventional DC to AC converter. The resultant system is much cheaper means of controlling the energy system and offers additional utility in choosing how to use the energy generated. The proposed system shares the distributed generation (e.g. PV) power between energy storage (ES) and the grid/load such that the energy from PV will be stored in ES up to a predefined level and the rest will be passed through the inverter to the load/grid. It also offers a selling scheme according the energy demand from the local grid and level of the stored energy. |
