Item Description: |
The article considers ASBOs against female sex workers. It discusses pre-ASBO consultation and highlights a lack of consultation with stakeholder agencies. Despite assertions by the Home Office and the Association of Chief Police Officers, the article argues that ASBOs cannot work in tandem with local services aiming to exit sex workers from the streets and that ASBOs impact negatively on social/welfare work. The article has opened up debate regarding the appropriateness of ASBOs against sex workers. |
