Item Description:
This paper describes an assessment of the DFSI procedure (see publication 1 above) and its ability to capture the physics of flutter onset particularly in the context of air flight. The assessment was based upon the NASA benchmark data set with the AGARD445.6 planform. The challenges of extreme disparate mesh quality demands caused by very thin wing structures, distinct time stepping regimes, etc are reported. Much of this work was sponsored by the US Air Force at the Wright-Patterson.
