Item Description: |
This paper presents a flux continuous CVD(MPFA) formulation leading to a symmetric positive definite discretization of Darcy's law on structured and unstructured grids. The method avoids the additional degrees of freedom required by the mixed method. The relationship between CVD(MPFA) and the mixed finite element method is also given. The method is demonstrated using novel grids. This work has been influential in industry (Seong Lee, SEON@chevron.com, H. Friis, HelmerAndre.Friis@iris.no, C.
