The RDG was established in 2010 with time-limited funding from the Older People and Ageing Research and Development Network (OPAN Cymru), with the aim of identifying and developing policy and practice relevant research of benefit to the OLGBT population of Wales. The RDG recognised the need to establish an evidence base in relation to social care provision for older people who identify as transgender (trans)and to review the literature, with a view to identifying areas of further research.
