Item Description: |
This paper is significant as it details the technology underlying advanced computational models, for analysing a complex very large scale industrial oxide heap leach system. This research was funded collaboratively by Process Engineering Resources Inc, USA and Newmont Mining Corporation, USA over an extended period of years. The models, coupled into the operational plant-wide data acquisition information system, are validated here against operational process data, and employed in the analysis of the design and operation of full scale leaching facilities, targeted at optimising the process whilst simultaneously minimising environmental impact. |
