Often considered a distinct and alluring strand of French feminist writing and philosophy, I draw together possibilities for its use and explore implications for the study of organisations especially recent debates in organisation studies concerning engendering difference. As a form of embodied writing, écriture féminine brings with it a variety of issues for understanding embodiment, writing and the feminine, most notably its political potential and how gendered practices interpolate how writing is conceived. With focus on Irigaray’s and Cixous’s mode of writing the feminine, I expose the intersection between sex/text as a way of decentring conventional modes of writing.
